Among the many names in India who have inspired us, former President late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam is one of the top names. For the teacher that he was, Dr Kalam was a true motivator for the youth. He not just taught us great things about education, but also a lot about life and success. Let’s take a look at 5 lessons about life and success that we learnt from Dr Kalam.
1) That Failure Brings Success

Dr Kalam once said that it’s reading failure stories that can help us with ideas to success. “Don’t read success stories, you will get only message. Read failure stories, you will get some ideas to get success,” is what the great man said.
2) That Devotion brings success

When someone as successful as Dr Kalam talks about success, it’s experience that talks and hence, we must believe and follow those words. “To succeed in your mission, you must have a single-minded devotion to your goal,” is what we learnt from Dr Kalam.
3) The Connection between Life and Time

Yes, there’s a strong connection between life and time and Dr Kalam taught this to us through his quote that, “Life and Time are the world’s best teachers. Life teached us to make good use of time and time teaches us the value of life.”
4) That Lighter Moments are important in life

If you are one of the topper students in your class, you often kepp yourself away from having fun. But that fun is what’s going to make you smile in the future. As Dr Kalam put it. “Sometimes it’s better to buk a class and enjoy with friends, because today when I look back, marks never make me laugh, but memories do.”
5) Never Give Up
There isn’t one, but many of Dr Kalam’s quotes that motivate us to never give up. One of these is, “If you fail, never give up because FAIL means First Attempt In Learning.End is not the end, in fact END means Effort Never Dies. If you get No as an answer, remember that NO means Next Opportunity.”
Dr Kalam is no more with us, but I’m sure wherever he is, he continues to motivate, to teach people in that world. Take a bow Dr Kalam!
